For those who are lucky enough to experience CIF-SS they gain a lot of knowledge by competing in the event they qualify for. For instance, for Kendall how she described her experience is it was very "humbling". She knew how to prepare herself for the competition when facing league; however, preparing for CIF was much more difficult.
What kind of new preparation did you learn from your CIF? Kendall replied, "Not only do you have to prepare yourself physically but also mentally. The competition is much more intense when you're running against the top tier athletes in Southern California". In addition, she included that if you want to keep competing on a high level then you need to keep challenging yourself every time you step on the track. "You can't settle for less".
What are you looking forward to for this up and coming season? She says, "Well, I'm hoping to take on one or two more races this season. So, I'm looking forward to seeing how I do in those events."
When asked what kind of challenges she would face this up and coming season she replied, "the biggest challenge will be dropping my time; however, my plan though, is to just keep working hard until I start getting the results that I want". Working hard and having a focused mindset will allow Kendall to accomplish her goal of breaking into 46 seconds this season in the 300mH.
